New Sauna Village Opens in Cork: Free Sessions This Weekend! (2026)

Feeling the winter chill? Get ready to warm up, Cork! A brand-new 'sauna village' is opening its doors, and they're offering a sizzling deal to celebrate.

The Hot Box Sauna, a wellness company that's been making waves since its 2021 launch in Meath, is bringing its unique blend of heat and cold to Cork City. Known for its six existing locations across Ireland, they've cultivated a community of wellness enthusiasts who swear by the invigorating experience of sauna sessions followed by icy cold plunges. They believe it's a powerful combination for healing, mental clarity, and physical well-being.

This weekend, the newest 'sauna village' will open on Albert Road. To mark the occasion, Hot Box is hosting a soft launch event, offering FREE sauna sessions all day this Saturday and Sunday. You'll find them at the former Carey Tools plant hire site near the Victoria Road roundabout.

In a recent TikTok video, the Hot Box team unveiled the new location with some impressive drone shots. The 'village' boasts five saunas, four plunge pools, and hot showers. They're inviting everyone to come down and experience it firsthand, with bookings available online.

The Hot Box Sauna was founded by friends Dan, Liam, and Luke in 2021. What began with a single horsebox sauna has blossomed into a nationwide phenomenon, with locations in Louth, Meath, Dublin, Sligo, Carlow, and now, the vibrant city of Cork. The founders shared that they built the first sauna themselves, learning as they went. They started with a simple idea: would people be interested? The answer was a resounding yes, and the Hot Box has grown beyond their wildest dreams.

But here's where it gets interesting... Coachford is also becoming a winter wellness hotspot. Just a half-hour outside Cork City, new outdoor cold plunge baths have opened along the scenic River Lee. This offers another way to experience the benefits of hot and cold therapy.

Ballyhass Adventure, known for its waterparks and adventure activities, also provides a more relaxed experience with sauna sessions and yoga at its Coachford and Mallow locations. The riverside saunas at Coachford are already popular, and the new cold plunge baths are expected to attract even more visitors. The combination of cold dips and sauna sessions is believed to boost circulation and reduce inflammation. Plus, the serene setting of the Lee Valley is perfect for enhancing inner peace and mindfulness.

What do you think? Are you tempted to try the sauna and cold plunge experience? Do you agree with the health benefits, or do you have a different perspective? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
